Narrabri Shire lies halfway between Brisbane and Sydney with the Shire’s largest town, Narrabri positioned on the crossroads of the Newell and Kamilaroi Highways. It is located in the heart of the Namoi Valley, set against the backdrop of the Nandewar Ranges and on the banks of the Namoi River.

Attractions include Mt Kaputar National Park, historical museums, Yarrie Lake and hot artesian bores. The area is also known as ‘big sky’ country and for its CSIRO Australia Telescope.
