The City of Lithgow is located within the eastern part of the central west NSW. The area comprises the urban centre of Lithgow, the townships of Portland and Wallerawang and numerous villages, hamlets and rural localities.

Best known for its industrial heritage, the area also boasts seven national parks and rare flora and fauna.
