Liverpool Plains Shire is centrally located in north west NSW, strategically nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range.

The population centres of Quirindi and Werris Creek are located at the heart of the Shire and are supported by a number of smaller villages and hamlets including Blackville, Caroona, Currabubula, Pine Ridge, Premer, Spring Ridge, Wallabadah and Willow Tree.
