Wollongong

Wollongong City occupies a narrow coast strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Windang Bridge to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra escarpment to the west. The area is renowned for its magnificent natural environment, ranging from untouched rainforests to dramatic rocky sea cliffs and pristine sandy beaches.

Known in past decades for its heavy manufacturing, the city’s key industry sectors now also include retail, tourism, health, property, business services and education. It is home to the University of Wollongong and is a regional centre for the south coast.
